Nicole Marie Alexander

Development Director

Nicole Marie Alexander is a communications and development strategist with over a decade of experience advancing mission-driven nonprofit organizations. A native of Poughkeepsie, New York, and a two-time graduate of the City University of New York, her education and career have centered on expanding access, equity, and opportunity for historically underserved communities.

Nicole began her career as a qualitative researcher, evaluating alternative-to-incarceration programs and their impacts on recidivism rates. She later transitioned into nonprofit communications and fundraising, where she combines data-driven strategy with compelling storytelling to help organizations strengthen their public presence and secure sustainable funding.

Previously, Nicole held roles at the College & Community Fellowship, Amref Health Africa, and the CUNY John Jay College Research & Evaluation Center. In these roles, she led development and communications strategy, managing content development, donor outreach, and partner engagement for large-scale initiatives. Her experience spans grant writing, digital strategy, social media management, and fundraising. Across her work, she remains deeply committed to helping organizations effectively communicate their missions and expand their impact.

In her spare time, she enjoys casual birdwatching and helping first-generation young people navigate post-high school opportunities that balance parental expectations with personal dreams.
