Alumni Program

The musical work we do in prisons is only the beginning. Musicambia works with Alumni of our in-prison education programs once they have returned home.

He was Artist-In-Residence at the Initiative for a Just Society at Columbia University Law School from 2021-24, and a 2022 Galaxy Leaders Fellow. He has released two singles as an independent recording artist, “Me For You,” and “What Is Left.”

Carlos Ivan
Carlos Ivan is Vice President of Musicambia’s Board of Directors. He is a Research Analyst and Reentry Coordinator at the Center for Justice at Columbia University.

Jason
Jason works as a Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, and helped us create our Jeptha Program at Sing Sing, specifically for men in the Office of Mental Health.

Art & Krimes by Krimes
In 2021, four of our Alumni were hired by filmmaker Alysa Nahmias to sing on the soundtrack for her Emmy-Award-winning documentary Art & Krimes by Krimes, about formerly incarcerated visual artist Jesse Krimes. Krimes’ work is currently on exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and he co-founded the Center for Art and Advocacy.
